Diepolder Cave System
The Diepolder Cave System consists primarily of two
very large caves located near Brooksville, Florida with depths to over
360 feet. These caves are among the most beautiful
and unique submerged caves in the world.
The system is on property owned by the Boy Scouts of
America. The members of the Board of Directors of the Florida
Speleological Researchers, Inc. (FSR) are the custodian of the
system. The FSR's goal is to provide and maintain access for all qualified members through
the Diver Guide Program. The appointed Directors are chosen from the most
active and experienced deep cave divers within the State of Florida.
The majority of the Directors hold the credentials of Certified Cave Diving
Instructor and Certified Mixed Gas Diving Instructor.
Due to the difficulty and depth of these dives, there
are several prerequisites including the following:
Divers must be certified as Full Cave Divers
through the National Association for Cave Diving (NACD) or the
National Speleological Society-Cave Diving Section (NSS-CDS).
No other certification organizations are recognized at this time
All divers must be certified as Trimix / Mixed
Gas divers through a nationally recognized certification agency.
All divers must posses an Abe Davis or Wakulla
award or a physical dive logbook or printout with 100 cave dives.
All divers must be members (or join the day of
the dive for $25 per year) of the Florida Speleological Researchers,
Inc
If you'd like to schedule a guided dive in the system, email
or call me at 954-227-6783. If I don't pick up,
it's probably because I'm out diving... leave a message, and I'll call
you right back.
