Dive Report: RBJ Sunday, December 12, 1999 Reef Cat, Jim Mims By: Mike Rodriguez This was a wonderful dive. The conditions were good with a light current and about 80 foot visibility. The seas were running about three feet on the way out, but came up a bit to 4+ feet by the time we got back on the boat. Unlike yesterday's dive on the Pappa's Wreck, it was sunny today which made for a bright dive on the bottom. I was diving trimix 16/48/36. The current, like yesterday, was reversed; south on the surface and north on the bottom. In the excellent visibility we could see the line describing a beautiful, giant catenary in the reversed surface-bottom current. I love good visibility! During deco, a rainshower passed by. We could see the raindrops hitting the surface. I hoped it was just rain and not a storm which could have made getting on the boat difficult. After a few minutes, the rain passed and I relaxed. After deco was complete, we got back on the boat to find the captain wearing a raincoat. :-) Everyone had a great time!
