Florida Tech Diver Mailing ListTo subscribe to the mailing list, you MUST follow these instructions exactly. The subscription email you send will be received and processed by my mail server. This server is a computer which, as you know, are very literal about things. If you make so much as the tiniest mistake in following the instructions, the server will smugly return an error message and refuse to subscribe you. 1. Write an email message to the
following address: 2. In the BODY of the message, type
the following text replacing the "YOUR_FIRST_NAME" and
"YOUR_LAST_NAME" parts with your actual first and last name: 3. Send the message. Note that if your mail software sends out HTML instead of text, the server will get confused by all the extra gibberish in your message and will not subscribe you. This seems to be a particular problem for people using Microsoft Network; it seems Bill Gates thinks he knows what your email should say better than you do and adds all kinds of junk to the text you write through MSN. You should turn off this "feature" before attempting to subscribe. For that matter, you should just leave it off. You already have a Web browser to handle HTML; no need to have your mail software to it too. If your subscription was successful, you will, within seconds, receive a reply from the server telling you so. If you don't receive the reply or if you get an error message and are sure you followed the instructions above exactly, email me and I'll help you figure out why it didn't work.
